| This lecture covers Mary Cassatt: After Impressionism at the Art Institute of Chicago (September 6, 2026 – January 3, 2027). As the sole American artist to exhibit with the French Impressionists, Cassatt (1844–1926) was a key avant-garde figure. During her prime years in the late 1880s and 1890s, she produced ambitious works featuring mothers and children, complex color prints, and an unprecedented mural for Chicago's 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. |
