Nonprofit Affinity Group / Fundraising

Nonprofit Affinity Group / Fundraising

The Chamber's Nonprofit Affinity Group gathers the first Thursday of most months to connect with each other and benefit from some professional development.  We start at 12:30 with time to network, then have our presenter begin at 1 pm.  We welcome you to join us!

This month: Nonprofit Hunger Games: How to Survive Fundraising in 2026

Join us for a candid, interactive conversation where our presenter will be sharing eight hard-won truths, earned through a career in public service and nonprofit, and some new lessons learned from his time so far at OPRF Community Foundation. Participants will explore topics like navigating donor advised funds, understanding financial realities, competing in a crowded attention market, and creating experiences people remember....like this one! Expect a candid, engaging conversation with useful takeaways for nonprofit leaders at any stage in their journey.

WHO IS OUR PRESENTER?

Brian Biederman is the Development Director for the OPRF Community Foundation, where he works along executive leadership to devise revenue & outreach strategy, donor engagement, programs & events, and corporate partnerships. He brings 16 years of nonprofit leadership experience having served as a nonprofit founder, executive director, program director, & capital projects advisor in the arts, education, and health/human services sectors. Through his experiences, Brian has become an expert problem solver, relying on his creativity & positive energy to turn challenges into opportunities, and problems into solutions. Brian has built programs & experiences from the ground up, helped take small & mid-size organizations to new heights, and is honored to be a committed member of our incredible West Cook nonprofit community. He is also a lifelong musician / former public school music educator, self-styled Pizza Aficionado, husband to an OPRF HS alum, and father of a current 5-year old White Sox player (T-Ball, not MLB).
