The Chamber's Nonprofit Affinity Group gathers the first Thursday of most months to connect with each other and benefit from some professional development. We start at 12:30 with time to network, then have our presenter begin at 1 pm. We welcome you to join us!

This month: Volunteer Management Roundtable!

Limited budgets for nonprofits mean that staff hours can be scarce. So volunteer help can be key in carrying out our missions! But they must be recruited, trained, supervised, kept motivated... it takes work to get help with our work.

We'll pool our wisdom today around volunteer recruitment and management, so bring your issues, questions, resources, stories, etc.

And if you have time, come early and join us at noon for lunch! Cafe Cubano has great food, and we're glad to support them during the season of construction outside!

WHO IS OUR FACILITATOR?

Mark Walden is program manager at the Oak Park - River Forest Chamber of Commerce, and also serves as board chair for Mennonite Voluntary Service in Chicago. He has worked in the nonprofit sector for 35 years and earned an M.A. in Community Development from North Park University. Mark is also involved with Jubilee Affordable Housing, Lake View Presbyterian Church, and Ellis Avenue Church.

Parking can be found at the Village garage on the southeast corner of Lake & Oak Park Avenue, or on side streets such as Grove.
