Seminar: Minimize Your Commercial Property Taxes

Please join us on Monday May 18 to learn how you might be able to save thousands of dollars on your property taxes! We welcome Erik Harmon, Director of Commercial Outreach for the Cook County Assessor's Office, who will share with us about how to ensure you are paying no more than you need to in taxes on your commercial property.

Properties in our part of Cook County will be reassessed this year. This assessment forms the basis for how your property taxes are set and what you will have to pay.

What can you do to make sure that the assessment of your property is accurate?

Learn how the Assessor's office determines property values, how to correct inaccurate information, and how to appeal assessments. And learn what timeline all this has to be done on, and what resources are available to help you in the process!

What if you lease your commercial space?

In situations where the lessee is responsible for paying the property taxes, they can provide the Assessor's Office with information that can help their property be assessed more accurately by telling them more about how income is generated by the property.
